Job SummaryThe incumbent works at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center (VAMC) located in Salisbury, North Carolina in Chief of Staff Office (COS). This position has responsibility for reporting and setting up clinic profiles within the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) computer system.

QualificationsTo qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/22/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: experience where you were responsible for providing administrative support functions within a healthcare facility; experienced with procurement processes necessary to obtain goods and services for an office; performing automation duties using such software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics; assisting in the formulation and execution of budget estimates to include updating budget spreadsheets which are used in briefings; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; and researching reference materials, regulations, and standards to identify appropriate action necessary to correct problems or issues. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary. Occasionally, light physical effort may be required, such as that involved with walking, stair climbing, and carrying of light office items. The work is performed in an office setting which require normal safety precautions typical for offices and meeting rooms. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Major DutiesMajor duties include, but are not limited to: Communicates to the clinic profile manager related primarily to access and clinic profile management and appraised of events and decisions which could have a significant impact on the successful operation of the clinic profiles and other Data Quality programs. Meets with clinic staff to instruct and explain clinic mapping procedures, and routinely reviews clinic profiles. Monitors profiles to determine if adequate time slots are available for patient scheduling needs, as well as for handling patient workloads without inordinate scheduling delays. Determines if excess future appointment time slots should be brought to the attention of the clinic provider for redistribution. Performs validation of clinic set-up information to include, but is not limited to, billable status, count versus non-count, DSS identifiers (formerly known as stop codes), and activation of encounter forms. Process timely slot requests to create slots, activate clinics, inactivate clinics, convert slots, create and modify clinics as requested by clinical service through leaf approval request. Performs data retrieval and analysis of abstracted data for Medical Center management and clinic staff for validation (example: VistA, CPRS, reports, etc.). Incumbent validates national reports against local reports of workload statistics. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm Telework: Adhoc, as determined by agency policy.
