Job SummaryAbout the Position: This position is with the Army Sustainment Command located at Richmond, Kentucky. This position serves as Production Controller (Ammunition) responsible for current and backlog ammunition inspection scheduling to include Periodic Inspections, Storage Monitoring Inspections, Receipt Inspection, Foreign Military Sales Inspections, and Storage Monitoring Inspections.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Major DutiesConducts systematic verification of information captured via barcode scanning procedures to ensure absolute data integrity and system accuracy.Analyzing conventional ammunition operations to determine if schedules are being followed.Reviews records to determine whether projects are proceeding according to schedule, causes delays, corrective actions needed, and necessary adjustments to the schedule.Acts as technical advisor concerning ammunition surveillance inspection procedures and the procurement of mission materials.Attends meetings regarding production schedules, estimates, funding authorizations and reports.Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for renovation, maintenance and inspection of products or projects using multiple process production methods and procedures.Demonstrates technical proficiency in navigating the Logistics Modernization program and Munitions History Program to retrieve critical munitions history and maintenance data.
