Job SummaryThis is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position provides comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the Director and staff, managing communications, scheduling, travel, correspondence, records, training coordination and preparing personnel actions.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience managing calendars, screening calls/visitors, and coordinating meetings; prioritizing and tracking correspondence and preparing routine responses; coordinating travel, training, and performance appraisal deadlines; and ensuring compliance with records/forms policies across multiple divisions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Major DutiesReceives all visitors and telephone calls, ascertains nature of call or business of visitors and determines appropriate action.Arranges for conferences, including such matters as location, schedule, agenda and attendance list and assembles background material.Makes necessary arrangements for travel, arranging schedules of visits, making reservations, notifying organizations and officials to be visited, and submitting travel vouchers and reports.Maintains control records on incoming correspondence and action documents and follows up on work in process to ensure timely reply or action.Reviews documents prepared for signature of or coordination with Director for conformance with regulations, grammar, format, and special Directorate policies.Reviews incoming correspondence, publications, regulations, and directives which may affect the Directorate and uses initiative to obtain clarification of instructions from originating offices or appropriate focal points when necessary.
