Amsterdam Job Day Alert! Junior designer wanted! That's why we're organizing a Job Day for the thirteenth time on October 8 from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. During this day, we invite promising candidates to show what they're made of. Job description As a junior designer, you'll work on national and international wayfinding projects, conducting analyses, developing strategies, and translating these into designs. You'll use a variety of tools to do this, such as spatial adjustments, additions to a building or area, digital tools like AI, or signage. Our ideal candidate: - Wants to develop further in our specialty and has the drive to work and learn in a multidisciplinary wayfinding organization. - Has a completed relevant bachelor's or master's degree in graphic design, industrial design, service design, information design, or architecture. - Is creative, analytical, curious and critical. - Is digitally savvy: would rather build their own tool, script, or AI application to solve a problem than do it by hand. - Has an eye for detail but can also maintain a good overview. - Sees design as offering solutions: is just as happy diving into data (visitor flows, waiting times at a counter) as into a sketch. - Has strong command of Adobe Illustrator and basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign - this is a must. Experience with relevant 3D design and visualization software or AI tools is a plus. - Speaks and writes fluent Dutch and English. - Lives in the Netherlands. Job Day The morning starts at 9:30 AM with a welcome, followed by an assessment where we present you with several Mijksenaar cases. This gives us insight into your graphic, spatial, analytical, and other, sometimes surprising, skills. You'll also give a 5-minute presentation on one of the projects from your portfolio, which we'll then discuss with you.
