Sustainability Complaints and reporting mechanism 01 Purpose and scope 02 Principles In implementing this complaints and reporting mechanism, Kessels B.V. applies the following principles: - Accessibility: reports can be submitted easily. - Confidentiality: information is treated confidentially. - Independence: reports are assessed objectively. - Transparency: those reporting are informed about progress. - Protection against detriment: those reporting are protected against reprisals. - Due care: every report is investigated seriously. - Continuous improvement: reports are used to identify risks and areas for improvement. Wherever possible, Kessels B.V. aims to work together with suppliers and producers to achieve structural improvements. 03 Who can submit a report A report may be submitted by any stakeholder directly or indirectly involved in the activities of Kessels B.V. or its supply chain, including: - Employees of Kessels B.V. - Temporary staff and interns - Suppliers and their employees - Workers at producers' production sites - Trade unions and worker representatives - Non-governmental organisations - Local communities - Customers and business partners - Other persons with knowledge of possible malpractice Reports may be submitted both individually and collectively. 04 What can be reported Reports may relate to actual or suspected breaches of legislation, codes of conduct, policy documents or internationally recognised standards in the field of responsible business conduct. Examples include: - Child labour, forced labour, discrimination - Harassment and inappropriate behaviour - Unsafe or unhealthy working conditions - Excessive working hours - Insufficient remuneration or issues around living wages - Obstruction of freedom of association - Environmental pollution or damage - Corruption, fraud or bribery - Breaches of the Kessels B.V. code of conduct - Insufficient follow-up of previously agreed improvement measur...
