Can you turn a raw sensor signal into a reliable engineering measurement? Join the Grooming and Beauty Development team to extend an existing experimental platform with a new sensing technology. You will combine mechanical design, sensor integration, signal processing and data analysis to create a measurement solution that is reliable, repeatable and suitable for engineering decision-making. Your Responsibilities As an intern, you will: - Take ownership of the assignment, including planning, design, experimentation and communication of results. - Develop and evaluate concepts for robust mechanical sensor integration. - Design mechanical components and fixtures for the measurement setup. - Acquire and analyse sensor data under representative conditions. - Investigate noise, variation, repeatability and measurement uncertainty. - Develop algorithms that convert raw sensor signals into meaningful engineering parameters. - Correlate the new measurements with other available measurement sources. - Validate the performance of the integrated measurement system. - Contribute to further mechanical and functional improvements of the experimental platform. Key Deliverables - Validated sensor integration concept and mechanical design. - Technical documentation and, where applicable, CAD models or drawings. - Working data-acquisition and data-processing workflow. - Algorithms that translate raw sensor data into engineering metrics. - Assessment of robustness, uncertainty, accuracy and repeatability. - Validation experiments and recommendations for further development. - Final report and presentation to stakeholders.
