For a growing company specialised in ship repair and technical maintenance, we are looking for a MARINE MECHANIC.
As a SHIP MECHANIC, your responsibilities will include:
Performing mechanical maintenance and repairs on ships;Working on different vessels, both at the workshop in Ostend and on-site throughout West Flanders;Starting on-site and working independently on the scheduled tasks;Being responsible for the maintenance, dismantling and assembly of mechanical components;Working on engines, drive systems, pumps and other mechanical installations;Detecting mechanical faults and defects and providing suitable solutions;Carrying out mechanical interventions and repairs;Checking and testing installations after completing the work;Actively thinking along with technical issues and independently looking for solutions. As a MARINE MECHANIC in OSTEND, you recognise yourself in the following:
You have a technical education or background, preferably in industrial mechanics;You speak Dutch OR English;You have a valid driving licence B;Previous experience in an industrial environment is preferred;Experience in the maritime sector is a plus, but not an absolute requirement;You can work independently and do not need constant supervision;You are proactive and resourceful and know how to find solutions yourself;You are willing to take responsibility.
