About this role
As a Embedded Software Engineer, you will join our engineering team to support our activities within the clean energy and advanced technology sector.
You will be responsible for the development, validation, and support of control system software used within advanced engineering applications. Working across software, controls, systems, and test engineering teams, you will contribute to software development, investigate controller performance, support test rigs and bench testing activities, and ensure requirements are captured and delivered throughout the product development lifecycle.

Develop Cell Voltage Monitoring software, including detailed design, coding, testing, and handover activitiesGenerate software lifecycle documentation and development process deliverablesSupport component and subsystem bench testing activitiesSupport validation of air module systems, including flow meter algorithms and interface verificationDevelop, validate, and support turbine Variable Guide Vane (VGV) control strategiesSupport and maintain bench test equipment and test rig control systemsInvestigate controller behaviour and software performance issuesManage DFMEA actions and derive software requirements from engineering risk assessmentsCapture, analyse, and elaborate software requirements for monitor lane and test rig control systemsDebug, test, and optimise software written in CWork with and support the implementation of control algorithms developed in SimulinkCollaborate with systems, controls, software, and test engineers to deliver validated solutions Required Skills:
Experience developing embedded or control system softwareProficiency in C programming and software debuggingExperience working with control algorithms and Simulink modelsUnderstanding of the software development lifecycle and software verification activitiesExperience supporting test rigs, bench testing, or laboratory-based engineering programmesStrong problem-solving and root cause investigation skillsAbility to manage and trace software requirements through development and testingExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsRequired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Experience working within a software, controls, or systems engineering environmentKnowledge of software testing, validation, and integration processesDesirable Skills:
Experience with Cell Voltage Monitoring systemsKnowledge of DFMEA and requirements derivation methodologiesExperience working with flow measurement systems or control valvesFamiliarity with model-based development approachesExperience within clean energy, automotive, aerospace, or industrial engineering sectorsKnowledge of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or bench validation activities Why join us?
