GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
In addition to and in conjunction with the employee’s existing job description and under the supervision of laboratory management, they shall perform the following activities:Serves as a resource for technologist and department managementProvides leadership in the department as an acting mentor and role model for staffServes as a department-related content subject matter expertEstablishes priorities in work to be done and assigns specific activities to technologistIf applicable, directs internal proficiency/competency program according to regulatory standards and operating proceduresResolves service-related issues and coordinates information and problem solving with lab manager, staff and clients in a timely fashionCommunicates problems to supervisorProviding input on employee performance to manager as directed for employee reviewsOversees the operation of the laboratory which includes but is not limited to supply inventory, ordering, and maintaining the work areaServes as a liaison for the department to other internal departmentsAssists in making sure policies and procedures are followed and that training is complete for all staff membersAides in implementing changes and corrective action to help with process improvementAssists with personnel management including but not limited to scheduling, minor conflict resolution, training, and competencyInterfaces with auditorsOther duties as assigned MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology form an accredited institutionIf required by the State in which the laboratory is located, the appropriate State License to perform clinical laboratory testingWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
At a minimum must meet Technologist II criteriaKnowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques used in the applicable departmentKnowledge of the principles applicable to the facility and regulated laboratory testing industryAbility to instruct subordinates and delegate tasksAbility to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed proceduresStrong communication skills & analytical thinkingPOTENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
This laboratory carefully maintains all hazardous materials. All employees must abide by Eurofins DPT’s Safety and Exposure Procedures. This includes using the provided safety clothing and equipment.For a list of potential chemical hazards, see appropriate SDS sheet. Compensation:
$29.00-$38.00 per hour
