Role Summary:
The Technical Operations Support Technician will provide hands-on support for R&D laboratory operations, with primary focus on equipment setup, material production support, equipment cleaning, and room readiness. This role supports reliable laboratory execution by maintaining equipment availability, assisting with preventive maintenance coordination, supporting installations and project work, and helping sustain a safe, inspection-ready laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up R&D drug product laboratory equipment for planned activities and support material production using laboratory-scale equipment. Equipment may include tablet presses, granulators, blenders, mills and film coaters.Clean, turn over, and stage equipment and rooms on a daily or as-needed basis to maintain operational readiness.Provide first-line operational support for equipment uptime, troubleshooting coordination, user support, and laboratory response needs.Coordinate preventive maintenance activities, vendor escorts, service scheduling, and maintenance follow-up.Support capital projects, equipment installations, relocations, shutdown activities, and SAT/IQ/OQ readiness as needed.Maintain laboratory ownership expectations, including inspections, audit readiness, Enablon actions, equipment records, and documentation support.Support EHS expectations, hazard assessments, corrective actions, safety observations, inventory management, spare parts tracking, and administrative tasks. Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus experience working in a scientific laboratory or pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.Hands-on technical, laboratory, manufacturing, maintenance, or equipment operations experience.Ability to follow procedures, maintain accurate records, and work safely in an R&D laboratory environment.Strong organization, communication, and coordination skills with the ability to support multiple priorities.Comfort working and guiding others including lab users, vendors, facilities partners, and EHS contacts.Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting pharmaceutical R&D, laboratory operations, GMP-adjacent environments, or pilot-scale equipment.Familiarity with preventative maintenance coordination, vendor service support, equipment installation activities, and laboratory readiness expectations.Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel.Familiarity with digital interface on scientific equipment and operating HMI navigation systems. Position is Monday- Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00PM. Overtime as needed.
