Main Responsibilities:
The Medical Scientist/Biomedical Scientist will have responsibility for performing automated Haematology, Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay analysis together with blood parasitology; Manual differential analysis and sample preparation; Clinical Chemistry and Haematology analysis. Evaluation and authorisation of results. Carrying out clerical and technical tasks in accordance with sample handling procedures, maintaining policies and procedures, review and update as required. While working with colleagues to contribute towards the continuous improvement of the department. Participate in the development and maintenance of the ISO 15189 quality management system which is patient centred and ensures quality focused results are provided for patient care and to assist in the Total Quality Improvement of the department.
To assist Eurofins in maintaining a high standard in medical testing.Provide support to clients and colleagues to ensure a first-class service.To maintain and enhance their professional knowledge and skills as required.Work with colleagues to contribute towards the continuous improvement of the department.Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the mission and values of EurofinsAssist in the organisation of workload, prioritising tasks to ensure the effective running of the department.Observe the strictest confidence when dealing with all aspects of patient and Company information. Education:
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Science or BioMedical ScienceExperience:
Relevant experience in a multidisciplinary medical laboratoryRequired licences / certifications or membership:
CORU registration as a Medical scientist or HCPC registration as a Biomedical scientistSkills and Abilities:
Ability to work accurately when under pressure.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and teamwork.Ability to follow procedures and recognise when escalation is required.Commitment to professional development.Good IT and laboratory-information-system skills.
