About this role
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts. May be required to prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Shadow physician while treating patients and scribe the encounters into the EMR. Works directly with the physicians to collect test samples, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures to patients and assist in basic examinations.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma/GED equivalency , verbal and written English skills required.
EXPERIENCE: California MA certificate Preferred. Graduation from accredited MA program
LICENSE/CERTS: Medical Assistant Proficiency/Graduate Certificate or equivalent “on the job training”. CPR Certification required.
Wage Range: $23.00/hr - $34.00/hr
