About this role

JOB PURPOSE

In this role, you will inspect incoming units, review customer documentation, create shop travelers and identify any missing or conflicting information before work is released to Production. This position combines receiving inspection, quality documentation, customer-service coordination and administrative support.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable reviewing detailed information and able to communicate effectively with Quality, Customer Service, Production and technical personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect incoming aircraft panels and components for visible damage.

• Photograph and document the condition of received customer property.

• Review customer purchase orders, repair instructions, part numbers, serial numbers, requested work and special priorities for accuracy and completeness.

• Create and complete shop travelers with customer requirements, aircraft information, condition details and routing instructions.

• Identify modification units and attach applicable drawings, engineering changes or customer-provided instructions.

• Identify potential warranty units and provide available prior repair or teardown information for Quality review.

• Resolve missing or conflicting part numbers, serial numbers, purchase-order information, documentation and customer requirements before releasing work to Production.

• Identify and document applicable repair classifications and certification requirements according to approved procedures.

• Enter or scan received-unit information and maintain complete electronic and hard-copy receiving records.

• Update capability information or route new part numbers for review in accordance with company procedures.

• Mark special shipping containers with the applicable work-order number and document container requirements.

• Communicate receiving discrepancies and documentation concerns to the Chief Inspector, Quality, Customer Service, Production and technical personnel.

• Maintain organized records and assist with related Receiving and Quality administrative work

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• Will participate in and support safety initiatives, safe work practices, and compliance.

• Will participate in safety activities, including immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices, and accidents/injuries.

• Will follow all safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance, and equipment operation requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands: Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, and reaching to shoulder level. Requires occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling weight up to 20 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Equipment Operated: Ability to operate office machines and equipment and troubleshoot problems with equipment.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• One to three years of experience in receiving, inspection, quality administration, repair-order entry, aviation parts, manufacturing or technical customer service.

• Strong attention to detail when reviewing part numbers, serial numbers, purchase orders and customer requirements.

• Ability to follow controlled procedures and complete accurate records.

• Ability to identify visible damage and clearly document findings using written notes and photographs.

• Strong organization, follow-through and ability to manage multiple incoming units and changing priorities.

• Professional written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, scanning and basic work-order or ERP systems.

• Ability to handle customer property and small components carefully while maintaining traceability.

• Relevant education or training may be considered in place of some experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Aviation, aerospace, FAA Part 145 or regulated-manufacturing experience.

• Receiving-inspection or quality-inspection experience.

• Experience creating work orders, shop travelers or repair documentation.

• Experience reviewing customer purchase orders, traceability records, warranty information or certification requirements.

• Familiarity with aircraft part numbers, technical drawings, engineering changes or repair classifications.

• Experience handling customer-owned components or property.

Education/Training: Degree or training required for role

Experience: At least 2 years of related experience in aerospace or related field preferred.

Compensation: $18-24 per hour
