About the Role
The Facilities Technician I supports the maintenance, safety, and appearance of New Freedom facilities through entry-level maintenance, groundskeeping, preventive maintenance, and repair activities. This role works closely with facilities leadership and senior technicians to help ensure our facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming for members, employees, and visitors
This role is ideal for someone who:
• Enjoys hands-on work and facility maintenance projects
• Wants to build a career in facilities management or skilled trades
• Takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and functional environments
• Works well independently while also collaborating with a team

What You'll Be Responsible For
• Assisting with preventive maintenance and basic facility repairs
• Completing assigned work orders and maintenance requests
• Supporting groundskeeping, facility cleanliness, and property appearance
• Moving furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials as needed
• Identifying and reporting maintenance concerns and safety hazards
• Supporting facility operations and providing excellent customer service to members and staff

• Work orders are completed accurately and on time
• Facilities remain clean, safe, and operational
• Maintenance concerns are identified and addressed proactively
• Members and staff experience a well-maintained environment

What We're Looking For
• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
• Up to two years of maintenance, construction, facilities, or related experience (One to two years of facilities maintenance or construction experience preferred)

• Work across residential, behavioral health, healthcare, office, and community-based facilities
• Frequent use of maintenance equipment, hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and machinery
• Climbing, kneeling, crawling, reaching, lifting, and working in mechanical spaces may be required
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment up to 50 pounds
• Occasional local travel, on-call responsibilities, and after-hours response may be required
• Strong commitment to safety, customer service, and maintaining a welcoming environment for members and staff
