About this role
Under the supervision of the Chief Risk Officer and guidance from the Risk Management leadership team, the Risk Management Administrator supports the Risk Management Department through guest service, risk analysis, insurance administration, data entry, record maintenance, and departmental operational support. This position serves as an important point of contact for guests, employees, vendors, and other internal and external stakeholders regarding risk and insurance related matters. The incumbent assists with the administration and reporting of claims, including but not limited to General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Garage Keepers' Liability, and Housing claims; reviews Certificates of Insurance to ensure compliance with established requirements; maintains insurance and claims records; and supports insurance renewals and audits. The incumbent also performs data entry, data analysis, prepares departmental reports, processes department check requests and other financial documentation, and provides general administrative support to the Risk Management Department. Associate Degree (A.S.) from two or four-year college or university in a business-oriented major (Risk Management, Insurance Administration, Business, or Finance), and 3+ years of related work experience in a financial, insurance, claims, customer service or risk management environment required. B.S desired. Must be proficient in a PC environment with experience in financial or risk management software applications and be an advanced level user of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, demonstrated strong interpersonal and customer service skills, priority setting and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Must adhere to Mashantucket Pequot Tribe's Policies and Procedures.
•Serves as initial point of contact for guests, employees, vendors, and other internal and external partners regarding incidents and Risk Management-related matters.
•Identifies opportunities for early intervention and proactive incident resolution to minimize escalation and support positive guest experience.
•Assists with the administration and coordination of Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Garage Keepers' Liability, Housing, and other claims as assigned.
•Reviews Certificate of Insurance (COI) for our third-party partners ensuring they meet minimum requirements, manages and maintains MPTN's COI files.
•Responsible for OSHA recordable reporting.
•Responsible for accurate and timely data entry into Risk Management, claims, insurance, and other departmental systems.
•Responsible for preparing and processing check and wire requests, purchase requisitions and electronic signature documents (Docusign) for the Risk Management department.
•Assists with the budgeting process.
•Assists with maintenance of Safety training reports.
•Prepares presentations for Safety, Finance, and Executive meetings.
•Assists with gathering and preparing data for departmental analysis, reporting, insurance renewals, and audits.
•Prepares monthly and ad hoc reports the Risk Management Department
•Must have the ability to synthesize information into meaningful presentations.
•Provide general administrative support to the Risk Management Department
•Must display excellent interpersonal skills and have a positive cooperative attitude with both internal and external customers and partners.
•Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
•Associate Degree (A.S.) from two or four-year college or university in a business-oriented major (Risk Management, Business, Insurance Administration, or Finance) is required, with B.S desired
•3+ years of related work experience in a financial, insurance, claims, risk management, or customer service environment required
