About this role
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing daily Housekeeping operations and ensuring guest rooms, public spaces, and Resort facilities consistently meet established cleanliness, quality, and presentation standards. This position provides leadership and direction to Housekeeping teams, supports staffing and scheduling, monitors operational performance, and develops employees while delivering an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate is an experienced hospitality professional with strong leadership and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high service and cleanliness standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Oversee daily Housekeeping operations and provide direction and support to Housekeeping Supervisors and team members.
• Ensure guest rooms, public areas, and assigned Resort facilities consistently meet established cleanliness, quality, and presentation standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and follow up on cleanliness, maintenance, and guest service concerns to ensure issues are addressed promptly.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, shift coverage, and daily workforce planning to support operational needs.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop Housekeeping team members and Supervisors while fostering a positive, service-focused work environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, recognition, and corrective action as needed.
• Monitor daily operational performance and review departmental reports to identify trends, address concerns, and improve efficiency.
• Manage housekeeping supply inventories and purchasing within established guidelines; monitor usage and help control departmental expenses.
• Respond to guest requests and concerns, working with the appropriate departments to provide timely and effective resolutions.
• Coordinate deep cleaning, seasonal cleaning, and other special projects to maintain Resort standards.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and Resort policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Maintenance, Laundry, Spa, and other Resort departments to support seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.
• Communicate operational priorities, staffing needs, and departmental updates to the Director of Housekeeping.
• Support the implementation of departmental initiatives, service standards, and process improvements.
• Participate in department and Resort meetings as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Minimum of two (2) years of progressive housekeeping or hospitality experience, with prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to exceptional guest service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple operational needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning procedures, quality standards, and inventory management.
• Ability to interpret operational reports and use information to support staffing, service, and operational decisions.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn property management and housekeeping systems.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other Resort departments and build positive working relationships.
• Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive, professional, and service-focused work environment.
• Current U.S. Driver's License required.
• Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• Ability to safely use cleaning products, equipment, and tools.
• Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching.
• Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
