Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a driven, hardworking, and highly-motivated Human Resources Manager to join our team at American Place Casino. This role owns the team member experience while driving HR compliance and operations property-wide. This role partners closely with the Director of HR, Employee Relations Manager, Payroll & Benefits Manager, and Talent Acquisition Manager to ensure a consistent, compliant, and high-performing team member experience.
What is Expected of You:
• Manage, mentor, and lead the HR Generalist team
• Own the team member experience from offer acceptance through the team member lifecycle, including IGB licensing, onboarding, and orientation; partner with the Talent Acquisition Manager for a seamless handoff
• Serve as first point of contact for team member inquiries, routing issues to Employee Relations or Payroll & Benefits as needed, and tracking trends to improve policy and process
• Own the performance review cycle, including but not limited to, administration, timelines, manager support, and tracking in UKG and support broader organizational development (training, career pathing, succession planning)
• Drive company-wide culture and engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, engagement surveys and action planning, and diversity & inclusion efforts
• Own Events & Communications, executing team member engagement events, activities, and internal communications at the property level
• Own HR policies, SOPs, and process documentation, partnering with the Director of HR on continuous improvement
• Oversee annual compliance training requirements and sign-offs, and monitor HR compliance to mitigate human capital risk
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and Illinois Gaming Board regulations, including licensing, documentation, and recordkeeping
• Partner with Corporate on audit compliance; serve as key UKG administrator for data integrity and reporting outside recruiting and benefits
• Report on HR metrics (engagement, turnover, training completion, event participation) to the Director of HR
• Manage the budget for team member events, engagement, and recognition programs
• Other projects and tasks as assigned to help meet the goals of the company
Experience You Will Need:
• 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 1–2 years in a direct people management or supervisory capacity
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
• Experience with engagement surveys, culture/recognition programs, and budget management preferred
• Thorough knowledge of labor law, HR compliance, and policy/SOP development
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred; Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred
• Proficient in HR systems (UKG a plus); strong communicator with sound judgment and discretion
• Bilingual a plus
Physical Requirements:
• Frequently sit, use close/computer vision, and perform repetitive hand/wrist motion
• Frequently speak, hear, read, and write to communicate with team members, leadership, and candidates
• Frequently stand and walk throughout the property
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• Able to obtain/maintain necessary licenses and/or certifications as required local gaming regulations.

Salary Range:
• $85,000-$135,000
