Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates cross-functional collaboration with senior/cross-functional team members on project concepts to achieve strategic projects and effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of responsibility within the organization.
• Assists with department initiatives and operates as a subject matter expert in policies for applicable technologies, programs, and systems management.
• In collaboration with Quality & Food Safety, Operations, and Engineering, develop strategies for continuous improvement of sanitation and hygiene programs and people development.
• Develop, maintain and review Sanitation policies and procedures for accuracy and alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Ensure site specific polices/ procedures/ programs are updated as company equipment and industry expectations change.
• Develop the company's Sanitation Strategy ensuring alignment among site leadership.
• Utilizes statistical methods, data analysis, and performance data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and corrective actions that improve food safety performance across the network
• Provide corporate governance and oversight of site Sanitation, EMP, pest management and chemical control programs, including vendor management and contracts (pest control and chemical), trend review corrective action follow-up, and compliance with internal, regulatory, customer and GFSI requirements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agency regulations (OSHA, DOL, USDA/FDA, etc.).
• Responsible for supervising non- routine cleaning assignments
• Develop, execute and lead MSS (Master Sanitation Schedule) and SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) audits.
• Develop, maintain, and report companywide sanitation KPIs utilizing scorecards to measure effectiveness and drive accountability.
• Provides sanitary design expertise and recommendations for new equipment, facility modifications, capital projects, and process improvements to reduce food safety risk and improve cleanability.
• Partner with chemical providers to approve cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, validate application methods, and ensure compatibility with equipment, surfaces, food safety requirements, and employee safety standards. Conduct routine corporate audits and program assessments to verify that site sanitation teams are maintaining sanitation, EMP, pest control and chemical control programs in accordance with corporate standards and food safety requirements
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and development support to facility sanitation managers to drive program consistency and sanitation leadership across the organization

Physical Requirements:
• General office environment with majority of time using computer
• Regular exposure to plant floor, including noise, dust, and variation in temperature (hot/cold)
• Requires frequent travel (40%-55%)
Safety, Quality and Hygiene Requirements:
• Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and code of conduct
• Comply with workplace uniform requirements and safety gear
• Comply with all safety and quality policies and procedures including lockout tag out, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP and Allergen

• Ensures work hours and schedules, timely attendance, and notice requirements for absences or lateness are met

Skills and Work Experience Requirements:
• 4-8 years of experience in sanitation, quality or related experience in food manufacturing or laboratory environment
• Minimum 4 years' leadership experience required HACCP and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) audit experience preferred
• Demonstrated team leadership experience
• Managerial and organizational skills are essential
• Must be able to taste and consume chocolate and related products
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office suite and enterprise resource management systems (ERP)
• Expected to identify, communicate/escalate, and problem-solve as issues arise
Education:
• Associate's degree
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field; food science preferred

Pay Range: $120k-140K
