Under the direction of the Operations Team Leader/Maintenance Supervisor or general supervision, this position is responsible for maintaining optimum levels of production efficiency, spoilage, and quality levels through training of all Technicians, while working in a safe manner and complying with all safety and quality procedures. Job Duties: Oversee daily safety checks to ensure safe work habits exist and correct hazards while leading by example. Coordinate and train team members on all concepts of maintenance and safe equipment operations providing appropriate documentation of completion, as well as coach, mentor, and train towards problem resolution for optimal machine operations. Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Work with site Greenbelts and CI Champions in facilitating LSS (Lean Six Sigma) Projects including championing the development and implementation of SMED. Partner with will all personnel levels, equipment manufacturers, and vendors to ensure proper facilitation of machinery maintenance, upgrades, and installation of new equipment and/or overhauls. Be available for callouts in cases of emergencies and breakdowns. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Work with team members to make recommendations for process improvements. Support Maintenance Planner with TPM Program to include the CMMS database. Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of “changeovers” and production line maintenance events. Assist in the Maintenance Spare Parts (MRO) inventories, ensuring all parts have correct identified Min/Max quantities at appropriate levels. Support BRC Certification team in achieving and maintaining Certification. Shall be competent and shall have appropriate education, training, skills, and experience. They shall be fully conversant in BRC Food Safety Policy, GMP’s, HACCP Principle and BRC Food Safety Standard and Application. Forklift operations as required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Professional certificate/license in industrial or mechanical skills preferred. Experience in can making preferred. Basic computer skills Able to present ideas / issues effectively, actively listen, and work across functional boundaries with the ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, customers, and vendors. Ability to solve complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate options, and implement solutions. Able to read blueprint or interpret sketches. Intermediate math skills with the ability to divide in all units of measurement, compute rate, ratio, and percent. Work Environment: This position works in a manufacturing environment and around machinery that produces noise. The noise level in the work environment is very loud. Employees must wear hearing protection and all other assigned personal protective equipment. Temperature can range from extreme cold (<40 degrees) to extreme heat (>95 degrees).
