About this role

We are seeking a results-driven Senior Network Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and L2/L3 networking to lead network implementation and operations for large-scale telecom and metro rail infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience across multi-vendor platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Allied Telesis, Belden), a track record in NOC operations and incident management, and familiarity with metro domain systems such as CCTV, PA/PIDS, ACID, and FOTS. Key Responsibilities

• Lead telecom network implementation, configuration, and commissioning for metro rail and enterprise infrastructure projects.

• Configure and manage multi-vendor network devices including Cisco (ASR, NCS), Juniper (ACX, SRX, EX), Nokia 7705, Allied Telesis, and Belden switches.

• Design, deploy, and troubleshoot routing and switching architectures using MPLS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLAN, STP, VTP, HSRP, VRF, and multicast.

• Work on metro telecom systems such as CCTV, PA/PIDS, ACID, and FOTS, ensuring seamless integration with ICMS and other station systems.

• Monitor network performance using NMS/OMS platforms, proactively identify abnormal alarms, and resolve faults to maintain high uptime.

• Configure and manage firewalls, DHCP/DNS servers, and wireless access points; implement ACLs, NAT, port security, and VLAN ACLs.

• Handle critical incident and escalation management, ensuring timely resolution within SLA timelines.

• Conduct PAT (Pre-Acceptance Testing), SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), and IAT (Integration Acceptance Testing) to validate system readiness.

• Perform OFC testing and fault detection using OTDR and LSPM tools; conduct signal testing and loss analysis for end-to-end connectivity.

• Generate SLA and performance reports, including downtime and penalty calculations.

• Coordinate with cross-functional and client teams for network upgrades, deployments, and troubleshooting.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related engineering field.

• 8+ years of experience in telecom/enterprise network operations, with exposure to metro rail or large infrastructure projects preferred.

• Strong working knowledge of MPLS, BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, VLAN, STP, VTP, HSRP, VRF, and multicast routing.

• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Allied Telesis, and Belden networking equipment.

• Experience with network security fundamentals: ACLs, NAT, port security, VACLs, and firewall management (e.g., pfSense).

• Familiarity with NOC operations, incident/escalation management, and SLA monitoring & reporting.

• Exposure to metro domain systems (CCTV, PA/PIDS, ACID, FOTS) is a strong plus.

• Proficiency with network monitoring tools such as NMS, Athenta NMS, OMS, and iperf.

• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and client-facing communication skills.

Preferred Certifications

• CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate

• JNCIA – Juniper Networks Certified Associate

• JNCIS-ENT – Juniper Networks Certified Specialist (Enterprise Routing & Switching)

Work Environment

• Combination of NOC-based monitoring work and on-site fieldwork at project locations.

• May require occasional travel to metro/project sites for deployment, testing, and commissioning.

• Fast-paced environment involving critical infrastructure with defined SLA commitments.
