Salary: £41,000 - 71,500 per year
Requirements: Strong senior-level Python development experience.Hands-on experience with Pydantic for data modelling, validation and schema design.Experience with FastAPI, REST APIs, JSON, YAML and SQL.Strong understanding of data modelling, metadata, data governance and data quality.Hands-on experience with Collibra or a similar data governance/metadata platform.Experience with data lineage, taxonomies, business glossaries and governance workflows.Ideally, experience within financial services, banking, risk, compliance or regulatory environments.Familiarity with Git, code review, automated testing and CI/CD practices.Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor. Responsibilities: Design and maintain enterprise data and metadata models.Develop Python solutions using Pydantic and FastAPI.Configure and enhance Collibra asset models and governance workflows.Build reusable automation, validation and integration components.Work with REST APIs, JSON, YAML and SQL.Support data quality, lineage, taxonomy and metadata management.Collaborate with technology, architecture, risk, compliance and business stakeholders.Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude responsibly. We are a leading financial services organisation with our Technology Cyber Data Risk & Resilience team based in Glasgow. This is a 12-month contract role with a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and a daily rate of £484 PAYE. We are looking for a hands-on technologist who enjoys working at the intersection of Python development, data modelling and data governance, helping us design scalable data models and governance solutions that support enterprise data, risk and regulatory requirements.
