At Aalborg Energie Technik A/S, we've spent nearly three decades turning biomass into reliable, clean energy. We develop, sell, design, procure, install, commission, and service complete wood-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plants ranging from 25 to 170 MW. At the heart of every solution we deliver is our advanced biomass-fired steam boiler technology, engineered to perform reliably and sustainably, together with the equipment that supports it end to end. Behind this work stands a dedicated team of around 100 people across Denmark and Poland, combining deep engineering expertise with a shared commitment to sustainable energy solutions. About the position We're looking for an experienced Finance Team Lead to head our local Finance Department. As the highest-ranking finance professional on-site, you'll take full ownership of local financial execution- accounting, month-end closings, and controlling, banking, corporate funding. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, journal entries, and month-end/year-end close in line with Danish statutory requirements and Group accounting policies Handle accounts payable/receivable, invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor/customer reconciliations Prepare VAT returns, Intrastat filings, and other statutory reports, and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in alignment with Danish GAAP and Group reporting standards Assist with payroll accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis, and liaise with auditors, banks, tax advisors, and statutory bodies as needed Drive process improvements and internal controls, and collaborate with project execution, procurement, and sales teams on cost tracking Monitor project financials- tracking costs, budgets, and milestones against plan, and provide regular status updates, invoicing support, and profitability tracking to project managers and management What We're Looking For Several years of experience in a senior finance role (Financial Controller, Chief Accountant, or Finance Manager) Proven or emerging leadership skills, with a talent for mentoring and developing a team Solid grasp of accounting principles, financial controlling, and reporting standards Comfortable balancing local operational needs with Group Finance expectations Strong ERP, financial systems, and Excel skills Fluent in English and Danish A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a strong sense of ownership If you're looking for a role where you can truly make an impact, combining hands-on financial expertise with real leadership responsibility, we'd love to hear from you!
