The Role: R&D Director As R&D Director, you will lead the research and development strategy for the Machine Control Division. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving innovation, managing high-performing global teams, and ensuring our solutions remain at the forefront of the industry. Key Responsibilities · Define and execute the technical vision and product development strategy for the Machine Control business, aligned with divisional and corporate goals. · Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams of engineers and product developers across multiple continents. · Oversee the full product lifecycle from concept to market launch, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in line with the approved Product Roadmap. · Foster collaboration across divisions to ensure technology synergies. · Develop and execute project master plans to achieve strategic business objectives, including growth, profitability, and market share targets. · Provide strategic input during Product Roadmap reviews to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with functional specifications. · Appoint, coach, and monitor performance of the R&D Teams, ensuring knowledge transfer, professional development, succession planning, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. · Represent the division in strategic discussions and industry forums. · Moderate international travel required (15–25%). The Ideal Candidate · Minimum 7–10 years of experience in product and software development and systems architecture, preferably within a global organization. · Proven leadership experience in R&D within technology or industrial sectors, with a strong background in machine control, automation, or related fields. · Demonstrated ability to manage global teams and deliver complex technical projects on time and within budget. · Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (written and verbal), including documentation and reporting. · Strong strategic thinking, high work ethic, and a sense of urgency, responsibility, and accountability. · Ability to drive innovation and manage complex projects in a global environment. · Fluent English (verbal and written) is required; additional languages (e.g., Danish, German, Swedish) are advantageous. · Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
