About this role

Would you like to help communicate to the general public and scientists alike about the research we do at VOLT Center (Center for Volatile Interactions), Copenhagen University? Could it be interesting to work with web communication and editing, as well as social media? We are looking for a student to create educational visual communication, as well as assist with basic administrative tasks. In our team, collaboration and high ambitions are important keywords, and we are ready with training, guidance, sparring and good humor. What will your tasks be? Assist with editing and creating new texts about our research for our website Prepare draft materials for news, events, info screens and banners about Center events Solve communication tasks in close collaboration with your direct manager (Center coordinator) and colleague scientists and then post on social media Assist in basic admin tasks such as printing documents, updating office door signs, making cards for the staff board Assist in working with graphic material for our communication, e.g. in Canva or Photoshop You will be an important part of our team, and you will be encouraged to use your perspective as a student/ non-specialist in the tasks we perform. As you get to know the tasks, you will have the opportunity to take on more responsibility and work independently with your tasks. Who are you? You are studying at a University in Copenhagen (or somewhere that allows you to come to your workplace in person) and are interested in communication You are interested in target group-oriented communication You are structured and systematic in your work style and good at completing tasks You are solution-oriented and can understand the user's problems and needs It's a bonus if you have the courage to do image editing and lighter graphic work You are willing to be trained in video editing, statistics tools, etc. You ask for help when in doubt. You like to have a large contact surface and collaborate with many people We do not expect you to know everything in advance, but that you have the courage to learn, dare to ask for help and tell us about students' needs. About us Center for Volatile Interactions (VOLT) is a Center of Excellence established in 2023 with funding from the Danish National Research Foundation . The center is based at Department of Biology , Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen. VOLT research concerns climate change and ecosystem processes, and aims to characterize and quantify the production and consumption of volatiles by understudied organisms and environments, such as mosses, lichens, soils as well as fresh and marine waters. VOLT endorses diversity, as is demonstrated by the gender-balanced and multinational team of PIs and collaborators. Salary and employment terms You will be employed and paid according to the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Public Employees' Organisations - The State Sector (OAO-S collective agreement) and according to the Organisational Agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT employees (HK). You will be placed as a student according to seniority. The minimum hourly wage is DKK 145.73 as of 1 August 2026. You can read more about salary levels in the state at www.loenoverblik.dk . The starting date for the position is 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The working hours are 15 hours per week. Remuneration is based solely on the actual number of hours worked, and you are not guaranteed a fixed number of hours. To be employed, it is a prerequisite that you are enrolled and active student at a higher education institution (medium or long-term education).
