Job Title: Production AssociateJob DescriptionThe Production Associate works on high-volume printed circuit board (PCB/PCBA) manufacturing lines, supporting surface mount technology (SMT), PTH insertion, and final server box assembly. In this role, you load and monitor production equipment, handle component reels and carts, assemble boards into server boxes using hand and power tools, and perform basic testing and documentation to ensure quality and efficiency throughout the production process. Responsibilities • Load blank PCB/PCBA boards into SMT machines and monitor SMT production lines to ensure continuous and efficient operation. • Load and unload component reels and carts into SMT machines, including stopping machines, threading reels correctly, and restarting equipment as needed. • Handle component reels weighing up to 5 lbs and carts weighing up to 30 lbs while maintaining safe lifting and handling practices. • Transition boards from the SMT line to the PTH insertion line, ensuring proper flow and organization between processes. • Keep reels of components properly fed into the PTH insertion machine and monitor the process to maintain consistent output. • Monitor and maintain solder paste levels on the PTH and wave solder equipment to ensure components are securely soldered to boards. • Take completed PCB/PCBA boards and mount them into server boxes by following build sheets displayed on computer screens. • Use hand and power tools to secure assemblies inside server boxes according to specified build instructions and quality standards. • Lift and load completed server boxes, weighing up to 30 lbs, into server test equipment for pass/fail testing. • Run pass/fail tests on completed server boxes, accurately identify test results, and place units in designated pass or fail areas. • Document the movement and status of tested boxes in the appropriate systems or logs to maintain accurate production records. • Follow all production, assembly, and machine operation procedures and safety guidelines within an ESD-controlled facility. • Communicate clearly with team members and follow written and verbal instructions to meet production goals and quality requirements. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of work history in any environment, demonstrating reliability and consistency. • Ability to lift and safely handle items weighing up to 30 lbs on a regular basis. • Ability to pass a basic math test at approximately a 5th-grade level, including simple calculations relevant to production tasks. • Ability to read, write, and speak English to follow build sheets, instructions, safety guidelines, and documentation requirements. • Basic production and assembly experience, including working with repetitive tasks in a manufacturing or similar setting. • Ability to operate and monitor machinery, including starting, stopping, and adjusting equipment as directed. • Attention to detail when following computer-based build sheets and documenting test results. • Willingness and ability to work assigned shift schedules, including potential overtime on weekends. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in PCB/PCBA production, SMT lines, or PTH insertion is beneficial. • Comfort using hand tools and power tools for assembly work. • Familiarity with pass/fail testing processes and basic quality control practices. • Ability to work in an electrostatic discharge (ESD) controlled environment and follow related procedures. • Strong teamwork and communication skills in a production setting. • Basic computer literacy to read build sheets and enter simple production or test data. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a modern, ESD-controlled manufacturing facility featuring extremely clean, well-lit production areas and climate-controlled conditions. Employees work around brand-new machinery dedicated to PCB/PCBA manufacturing, SMT lines, PTH insertion, and server box assembly and testing. Multiple shifts are available: 1st shift runs 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; 2nd shift runs 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday; 3rd shift runs 11:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, with optional overtime on Saturdays and Sundays. The facility operates under ESD protocols, and employees wear smocks and heel straps as part of the standard dress code to protect sensitive electronic components. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sturtevant, WI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.80/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
