Project Mgr III - Tech
Job Description: BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Program/Project Manager to join our Minuteman III (MMIII) Systems team for an exciting opportunity supporting both sustainment and acquisition programs for the MMIII weapon system. The successful candidate will provide program and project management support to MMIII Directorate Program Office Operations Division. The Operations Division includes Finance support, Director’s Programs, Executive Administration, Standardization/Compliance, Facilities, Strategic Communications, Public Affairs and more support functions. These programs are equipped to directly support MMIII Systems Program Office Director and enable a seamless transition into the follow-on system, known as Sentinel ICBM System (formerly Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD)) Candidates may be called upon to augment organic resources by providing breadth and depth of capabilities for: • Sustainment/Acquisition/Transition Cost & Schedule Support • Program Office Director Support Management • Mission Integration and Support Management • ICBM Enterprise Operations Management Potential candidates will validate the abilities to accomplish the following activities while demonstrating strong leadership attributes of a team of subject matter experts accomplishing the same: • Manage, coordinate, plan, organize, control, integrate and execute MMIII Program Support through all phases of daily operations of a large organization. Achieve financial, schedule, technical and new business performance objectives. Participate in support of new business. Model and demonstrate strong leadership in ethics, safety and security. Extensive demonstration of direct people management responsibility/capability is required. • Attend internal and external meetings as required to cover both business items and customer requirements. Review and approve all correspondence delivered to customers as deliverable items. Follow all required processes, especially the peer review process to ensure quality of products being delivered. • Maintain a high level of expertise in Operations related requirements. Execute A&AS efforts according to DoD 5000-series instructions. Ensure program and project personnel retain highest levels of knowledge as related to their programs/area of subject matter expertise. Oversee cost, schedule and technical/performance of existing contracts and contract line-item accounts. • Direct project and program activities or segments of major projects. Review status of projects and budgets, manage employee schedules, and prepare operations status reports. Assess issues and develop solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. Provide technical and analytical guidance to the project team. • Directly support government leadership and maintain strong customer relationships. #ASFS
Required Skills and Education: Typically a bachelor’s degree and 10 years’ work experience or equivalent experience
• Bachelor’s degree • At least 14 years of experience in direct Program Management (12 years with master’s degree) • Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills. • Active US DoW Secret Security Clearance granted within the last 5 years • At least 5 years’ experience leading Operations support teams • Experience managing large projects and multiple teams • Demonstrated strong leadership skills specifically: setting expectations, managing work, and leading individuals and teams • Demonstrated self-discipline to plan and prioritize their own work with successful results
Preferred Skills and Education: • Graduate degree and/or PMP certification • Active US DoW Top Secret Clearance granted within the last 5 years • Experience managing within, or entire, DoW acquisition programs in a Systems Program Office • Experience with operational or technical operational systems' function • Functional/working knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office Suite of tools • General knowledge of MS Project, Primavera or other scheduling tools • General knowledge of requirements management tools • General knowledge of product lifecycle management tools
