Job summary
To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients, as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all task normally undertaken by an experienced RGN and any additional roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regards to current training.
Main duties of the job
Assist patients to identify their health needs.Contribute from a nursing perspective to the practice development plan.Manage and organise individual patients consultations.Support the practice in providing services contributed to contracts & QOFSupport the practices Clinical governance agendaMaintain patients yearly reviews as required.Participate in Clininal and staff meetings.Work alongside the team in supporting the practice running effiently and effectiviely.Identify changes to clinical practice that are required.Participate in clinical supervisonBe proactive in working alongside the Clinical Team

Providing accurate and efficient consultations to patientsSupport in the long-term condition management within the surgery (QoF) Applying dressings and treating wounds Providing health advice to their patients regarding their health conditions, as well as advice about fitness or diet according to government guidelines; Support public health and screening programmes including immunisations, vaccinations and cervical screeningReview travel forms and administer travel vaccines and give travel advice to patients Keeping patient records up to date;Undertake all mandotaory training Working alongside and communicating regularly with practice GPs, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
Experienced in working in General Practice Experience of working within a nursing team Experience in working with vulnerable patients Experience in: chronic disease management, child immunisations, travel vaccines, cervical screening Highly organised, flexible and able to prioritise effectively You'll also be highly observant, able to assess patients and take responsibility for determining the best course of action. As with all nursing roles, communication skills, problem solving and good judgement are crucial.

Qualifications Essential
You must have completed your School of Nursing training in becoming a Registered General Nurse level 1 & 2.
