Job summary

B1 Ward is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy Ward Manager with strong leadership skills and a clear passion for quality and patient safety. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic nurse who is committed to delivering high standards of care and supporting the development of the ward team.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion for complex care, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will play a key role in supporting the Ward Manager, leading by example, and contributing to a positive, safe, and effective ward environment.

Main duties of the job

B1 Ward provides high-quality medical care for complex patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. We are looking to recruit a motivated, hardworking Deputy Ward Manager with strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a genuine passion for complex care and patient safety.

Applicants should have a sound knowledge of general medicine, experience in caring for patients with complex and multi-morbid needs, and be able to demonstrate excellent discharge planning skills to support safe and effective transitions of care.

Promote and lead the delivery of excellent patient-centred care in a supportive and inclusive environment Support the Ward Manager in maintaining high standards of care, quality, and safety Act as a role model for professional practice and leadership Encourage staff development and foster a positive learning culture

The candidate must be willing to work 4 days a week to cover the service.

You will also be expected to deputise for the Ward Manager in their absence, ensuring the continued delivery of high standards across the ward.
