Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone
Hours: 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £24,600 – £30,300 per annum (Full Time Equivalent: £43,733 – £53,866)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Cardiac Physiologist to join our Cardiorespiratory team at KIMS Hospital. Working closely with the Lead Physiologist, Consultant Cardiologists and wider cardiology team, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery and development of our inpatient, outpatient and cardiac interventional services.
You will provide high-quality clinical care while helping to lead and develop the team, promote best practice and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. The role requires a patient-focused professional with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, who can inspire colleagues, support change and maintain high standards of clinical governance, quality and patient safety.
Main duties of the job
Provide clinical leadership and support in the day-to-day delivery of Cardiorespiratory services, working closely with the Lead Physiologist and Consultant Cardiologists. Undertake and support cardiac investigations, including echocardiography to BSE standards, while contributing to inpatient, outpatient and cardiac interventional services. Support workforce planning and service delivery, helping to allocate staff according to patient need and activity, including supporting procedures such as pacing, angiography, PCI and electrophysiological studies. Champion clinical governance, quality and patient safety, supporting regulatory compliance, clinical audit, evidence-based practice, infection prevention and the development of policies and procedures. Support and develop the team, contributing to training, professional development, innovation and change management, while promoting KIMS values and a culture of continuous improvement.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Degree-level qualification or equivalent as a trained Physiologist.
Experience Essential
Extensive post-registration clinical experience performing echocardiograms to BSE standards. Significant knowledge and practical application of clinical governance, together with evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable
Experience working within a cardiac catheter laboratory, including assisting with temporary and permanent pacing, angiography, electrophysiological studies and PCI. Experience in one or more of the following: ETT/TILT, Stress Echo, Holter monitoring or blood pressure monitoring analysis, together with experience of change or productivity management.
