Job summary The Clinical Services Administrator provides high-quality administrative and reception support across Community Services, the Inpatient Unit (IPU) and Main Reception. Working as part of the wider Clinical Administration Team, the postholder will rotate across service areas through a planned rota, supporting patient pathways, maintaining accurate records and coordinating communication with patients, families, healthcare professionals and external providers. The role requires an organised, adaptable and professional approach, with the confidence to move between teams, adjust quickly to different working environments and respond positively to changing service priorities while managing competing demands. The postholder must also work sensitively with patients and families. A structured induction and training programme will support the development of competence across all three service areas.
Main duties of the job The postholder will provide administrative support across Community Services, the IPU and Main Reception, working to a planned rotational rota. Duties include processing and coordinating referrals, maintaining accurate electronic patient records, supporting patient admissions, discharges and transfers, managing telephone enquiries, arranging transport and coordinating communications with healthcare professionals and external providers. The role will also provide professional and sensitive support to patients, families, visitors and healthcare professionals, including reception and front-of-house duties. The postholder will maintain confidentiality, follow organisational procedures and contribute to effective and consistent administrative support across clinical services. Full training and competency support will be provided across all areas.

Qualifications Essential
Good general education, including GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
Desirable
Office or administration qualification, e.g. NVQ Level 2 Business Administration or equivalent

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
