Job summary
The Living Well Service at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports patients with life limiting conditions through a range of therapeutic activities and group sessions. Due to growth within the team, we have an opportunity to join us as in a new role of Wellbeing Assistant! This role will be based at our Hospice in Cambridge, one day per week will be community based, supporting patients across Cambridgeshire.
Working as part of the Living Well Team, the Wellbeing Assistant provides personalised and holistic emotional, psychological and practical support to patients with an advanced serious illness as well as their families and carers. The role focuses on enhancing quality of life, promoting emotional wellbeing and supporting individuals through challenges of palliative and end-of-life care.
The role will work with patients and carers to design and implement individual care programmes as well as planning and co-ordinating patient support groups.
This is a fixed term post for 6 months.
Main duties of the job
To be successful in this role you will hold either a relevant Level 3 vocational qualification (e.g. Health & Social Care) or Care Certificate or hold a Level 2 qualification and have significant experience within a relevant clinical field, such as palliative or end of life care. Its also essential to have previous experience working within a health & social care, or rehabilitation service.
Due to the requirements of the role, its a requirement to hold a valid driving license and be able to travel across Cambridgeshire.
We have a full time role available (37.5 hours per week) but also welcome applicants who may be interested in working part-time hours as a job share.
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check with Child and Adult barred lists.

Starting salary of £25,760, with opportunities to progress to £27,476.
Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and will be pro-ratad for part time posts. As a Charity with limited funds, it is usual practice for new starters to commence on the minimum of the salary band for the role. Exceptionally, and only for candidates demonstrating significant strengths relevant to the role, we may be able to negotiate on this.
