Job summary

We are seeking motivated and values driven emerging leaders to join our Station Manager (Band 7) team at East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS), Northamptonshire Division.As a Station Manager, you will lead an ambulance station, shaping culture, driving performance, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

Main duties of the job

As a Station Manager, you will provide visible and compassionate leadership across one or more ambulance stations, creating a culture where staff feel supported, valued, and motivated to deliver high-quality patient care. You will lead diverse teams, ensuring wellbeing, development, and performance are consistently prioritised.You will be accountable for delivering operational performance across quality, workforce, finance, and efficiency, making informed decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment to respond to changing demand.You will also play a key role in incident and command structures, acting as an Operational Commander when required, while supporting staff following challenging events and promoting a culture of learning and continuous improvement.Working collaboratively with clinical leaders and partners, you will ensure strong governance, manage investigations and complaints, and contribute to service improvement and transformational change across the organisation.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Evidence of ongoing CPD Willingness to undertake any training deemed necessary for the fulfilment of duties Management diploma or evidence of equivalent demonstrable experience

Experience Essential

Relevant and evidence of operational experience in managerial roles Evidence of supervising and managing diverse teams of staff Working under pressure, demonstrating significant resilience, confidence and selfbelief in challenging situations Ability to meet challenging deadlines and manage conflicting priorities Extensive evidence of problem solving using own initiative
