Main duties of the job As an Ophthalmic Scrub Theatre Practitioner, you will:
Be part of our close-knit multidisciplinary team

Supervise, support and develop junior members of staff

As an Ophthalmic Scrub Theatre Practitioner at our York Hospital, you will be registered with the appropriate professional governing body (NMC or HCPC) and hold the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration. You will bring valuable post-registration experience, excellent communication skills, and a flexible, proactive approach to your work. Above all, you will be a committed team player who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care in a theatre environment.
In addition to your ophthalmic expertise, you will also work across a range of surgical specialties, including:
Orthopaedics
General Surgery
Gynaecology
Laparoscopic Surgery
ENT
Urology
Pain Management
Spinal Surgery
Maxillofacial Surgery
Breast Surgery
A Surgical First Assistant (SFA) qualification is desirable but not essential. Candidates who do not currently hold this qualification may have the opportunity to undertake SFA training in partnership with De Montfort University, supporting their ongoing professional development and career progression.

Qualifications Essential
As an Ophthalmic Scrub Theatre Practitioner at our York Hospital, you will be registered with the appropriate professional governing body (NMC or HCPC) and hold the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration.
