Job summary

Are you a highly organised, discreet and detail-focused administrator looking for a meaningful role where your work really matters?This is a rare opportunity to join a small, supportive and specialist Child Death Review team covering Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham. Your administrative skills will directly support statutory child death review processes, partnership working and learning that helps improve outcomes for children, families and communities.We are looking for someone who can provide high-quality administrative support in a sensitive multi-agency environment. You do not need previous experience in Child Death Review -- if you bring strong administrative skills, sound judgement, discretion and a willingness to learn, we would encourage you to apply.

You will be proactive, methodical and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Main duties of the job

As Child Death Review Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth and timely running of the child death review process. You will maintain accurate records on eCDOP, monitor case progress, coordinate time-critical meetings, request and collate information from partner agencies, prepare and circulate papers, take clear minutes, maintain action logs and handle sensitive information with care.You will work closely with health, social care, police, education, public health and safeguarding partners to ensure information is accurate, timely and shared appropriately. You will also support the preparation of reports, data summaries and learning materials for CDOP, helping the team identify themes, trends and areas for improvement.This is a role where accuracy, compassion, professionalism and confidentiality are essential.

Job description Job responsibilities

Act as the first point of contact for child death referrals across Bexley, Greenwich, and Lewisham Manage and update the eCDOP system, ensuring accurate data entry, timely reporting, case tracking and appropriate follow-up of outstanding information requestsCoordinate and provide administrative support for:Joint Agency Response (JAR) meetings within statutory timeframesChild Death Review Meetings (CDRM) and liaise with CDRM administratorsChild Death Overview Panel (CDOP) meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and document distribution Liaise with multi-agency partners (health, social care, police, education, public health) to ensure effective communication and timely information sharing Prepare and distribute sensitive correspondence to bereaved families with empathy and discretion

Knowledge Essential

A good understanding of confidentiality and the ability to apply this to the workplace Efficient / organised

Qualifications Essential

GCSEs grade C/4 or above, or equivalent RSA III typing or equivalent NVQ Level 4 Business & Administration or equivalent knowledge and experience

Experience Essential

Previous experience in an administrative role Ability to minute meetings in which there is a high level of complex information and terminology Ability to work proactively and under pressure

Experience Desirable

Awareness of current issues relating to child safeguarding, child death review or multi-agency working

Personal Qualities Essential

Systematic, methodical approach to work with attention to detail, priorities, accuracy and deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work professionally and sensitively with distressing or emotive subject matter, with appropriate support
