We are seeking a Senior Physiotherapist to join our City and South Oxfordshire Community Learning Disability Service based in Abingdon. Our small, friendly directorate thrives on collaborative, multi-disciplinary teamwork to provide holistic care for adults with learning disabilities.

We're looking for candidates with physiotherapy experience in learning disabilities, neuromuscular conditions, or related fields. Join our well-established team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.

You will have the opportunity to work flexibly which can include working from home or from one of our three bases in Banbury, Oxford or Abingdon.

Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.

Main duties of the job

To deliver specialist, evidence based physiotherapeutic management to people with a learning disability and a range of diverse and complex health conditions To provide a high quality physiotherapy service to people with a learning disability in their homes and in a variety of community and other health care settings To be responsible for your own caseload as an autonomous practitioner adapting your approach to meet the health and communication needs of the service users To work jointly and in a holistic manner with the multi-disciplinary Learning Disability Team, the LD Physiotherapy Team and wider health and social care services To participate in and contribute to clinical governance, and physiotherapy and service wide developmental projects You will have the opportunity to use your clinical reasoning skills, be able to manage your own caseload, work independently and organise your time flexibly.

You will have the opportunity to work flexibly which can include working from home or from a base.

Person Specification

Qualification Essential

Physiotherapy degree or diploma HCPC registration

Desirable

1 week/1 year post graduate training in posture management Formal post graduate qualification in any of the core areas of physio

Skills and experience Essential

Post graduate working experience in learning disabilities or neurological rehab Experience of independently managing and prioritising a caseload

Desirable

Experience of or formal training in, teaching physiotherapy related topics Awareness of, and experience of using 24 hour posture management Experience of supervising students or band 4 colleagues

Travel Essential

Car driver with UK license and access to vehicle

Learning disability awareness Essential

Awareness of and interest in learning disability health needs/ inequalities Expression of interest in working in the UK in the LD specialist field
