Actual Salary £17,366 - £18,202 (based on 30 hours per week)

20 - 30 Hours per week, Mon-Fri, Term Time only

We are seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic Science Technician to support the Science Department.

The main purpose of the Science Technician role is to provide equipment and resources for class practical work, demonstrations, assessments and examinations and supporting teaching staff. No prior knowledge of science syllabus, curriculum and specifications is necessary since full external and on the job training will be provided

Responsibilities include:

carrying out preparatory work for science classesclearing away apparatus, materials and equipment after use and returning items to storedisposing of waste (including hazardous waste) as appropriatesupporting teaching staff to carry out their roles especially with regard to departmental procedures, including Health & Safety issues.Person Specification:

Knowledge of COSHH and CLEAPSS (desirable) to maintain compliance with H&S RegulationsA level standard Science qualificationTeam-worker with ability to build effective working relationships with staff and pupils.Excellent communication and organisational skills.IT LiterateQuick to learn, flexible and able to work effectively using own initiativeApplications from those wishing to contribute to other aspects of school life outside the classroom are particularly welcome.Applications should be submitted via My New Term
