About this role
We are seeking a personable and organised Receptionist to join our busy secondary school on a part-time basis. As the first point of contact for students, parents, staff and visitors, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and efficient school environment.
Salary Range: Band 2: £26,646 - £27,911 (Actual starting salary £9,681 with annual performance-based increments)
Working Weeks: 39 weeks (Term time), plus an additional 4 days to be worked in school holidays
Working Hours: 15 hours between 07:30-16:30 Preferably Monday and Friday
Contract: 1 Year Fixed Contract
This post is presently based at our Lower academy. However, staff can be redeployed to either site dependent upon operational needs.
Key responsibilities:
Act as the main point of contact in receptionProvide a professional and corporate representation of the AcademiesWelcome and assist visitors, students and parents in a warm and professional manner Handle queries and questions efficiently and in a timely mannerAnswer and direct telephone calls and emails across both AcademiesSupport the administration team with general administrative tasks, including document preparation, booking appointments, typing, photocopying and filingThe ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
Experience working in a school or busy office environmentA calm, professional manner and the ability to multitaskExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organisational and IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)The ability to work constructively and flexibly as part of a team, with an understanding of school roles and responsibilitiesClosing Date: Wednesday 30th September 2026
