Why This Role Matters (About the Role)
As a Science Teacher covering this maternity leave, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-informed lessons across the key stages.
Students should understand that Scientific understanding is always evolving through curiosity, never complete, and that they as individuals can and will further add to our knowledge of the world and universe.
We want students to be able to analyse information in the real world to help them determine if their taxes are fair, the restrictions placed on their freedom of choice are necessary and to avoid being taken advantage of by persons or groups who misuse science for gain.
We also want students to understand the wonder in Science and that it has the potential to make the world a better place for all.
What You’ll Bring (Skills & Experience)
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong subject knowledge in secondary Science.
An ability to create an engaging learning environment where students undertake practical experiments and can understand the essential concepts of science.
High expectations for student progress, maintaining calm and clear boundaries that support learning.
A collaborative approach to planning and departmental work.
