The Role
We are looking to appoint a Head of Social Sciences who wants to join an experienced, supportive, committed team and make a real difference with our young people. A forward-thinking, dynamic teacher will only strengthen our existing team. This post also offers the opportunity to be Assistant Head of Sixth Form, initially on a temporary basis, due to the significant contribution to our sixth form provision that Social Sciences makes. This responsibility is paid as an R&R of £1,000 and with 1 additional lesson release.
The faculty is well-established, resourced, and highly supportive of each other. We work collaboratively, always putting the needs of our students at the forefront of what we do. We would love to show you round our department and our academy. Social Sciences at Ken Stimpson Academy includes Law, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Child Care and Health and Social Care. Some of these courses are taught solely at Key Stage 4 or 5, some are taught across both key stages. These subjects are extremely popular within the sixth form and are often fully subscribed.
Results in the faculty are on an upward trend and we are driven to ensure this continues. This role offers you the opportunity to develop and excel as a teacher, within a strong and effective team of practitioners. We understand that working collaboratively not only improves outcomes but also reduces workload.
We offer:
Salary commensurate to your experience
