About this role
We are looking for an ambitious and inspirational person with a passion for making a difference and enabling children to succeed, to take on the role of leading English at our ‘good’ Infant and Nursery School. The role involves a 3 day a week class-based responsibility, in a job-share with an existing member of staff but time will be given for leading English across the school.
We are an inner-city Infant and Nursery School. We pride ourselves on the fact that we place children and relationships at the centre of everything we do. The successful candidate will:
Be caring and compassionateSupporting development of teaching and learning of English throughout the school and nurseryBe a strong and passionate leader, who is committed to providing the highest outcomes and standard of provision.Monitor and observe teaching and learning across the school to improve and develop practise and feed back to staffAnalyse data to identify trends and set targets
Have a strong pedagogy in primary education Have a love of English, teaching children to read, write and be confident orators

The successful candidate will need:
A clear understanding of how young children learnAt least 3 years’ experience of working in Primary EducationThe ability to work well with children, colleagues and other professionalsA commitment to child development and equal opportunitiesAn understanding of the law around keeping children safe (safeguarding)Excellent organisational and time management skillsExcellent communication skillsPatience and a good sense of humour
