Join the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge and help shape an outstanding experience for postgraduate students while supporting world-leading research and education.

This is a key leadership role with a strong focus on postgraduate administration, admissions, student support, governance, and service improvement. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will lead education administration, drive operational excellence, and deputise for the Business and Operations Manager when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day delivery of education administration across the Department. Manage and deliver postgraduate administration and operational processes, including admissions, recruitment, funding, and student support, ensuring high-quality services for students and academic staff throughout the student lifecycle. Provide guidance to prospective postgraduate students and respond to applicant enquiries. Oversee postgraduate scholarship and research funding administration. Support Academic Directors and committees in implementing strategic and operational priorities. Lead governance, committee management, regulatory compliance, reporting, and education data management. Coordinate and enhance administrative processes to improve service quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. Contribute to leadership, operational management, and continuous service improvement initiatives across the Professional Services team.

You will bring experience in higher education administration, people management, budgeting, governance, and delivering complex administrative services. You will be an organised, proactive leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to excellent service delivery.
