KBR is looking for a Construction Manager to be based in Basra, Iraq – 28/28 rotation
Job Dimension
• Lead and manage all site construction activities for the WIP-CSSP project, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of the works. • Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved engineering deliverables, project specifications, quality requirements, and HSE standards. • Coordinate all construction disciplines and interfaces to achieve construction milestones and project objectives. • Monitor and manage EPC Contractor construction performance, productivity, and compliance with contractual obligations. • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure construction activities comply with company HSSE requirements.
Activities Construction Management
• Lead and supervise all site construction activities covering: • Civil and structural works • Mechanical installation • Piping works • Electrical works • Instrumentation and control systems • Buildings and infrastructure • Utilities and supporting facilities • Ensure construction activities are executed according to: • Approved AFC drawings • Specifications and procedures • Project schedule and priorities • Applicable regulations and standards • Coordinate site activities to optimize construction sequence and resource utilization. • Monitor construction progress and identify recovery actions when required.
Contractor Management
• Manage and oversee EPC Contractor and subcontractor construction teams. • Conduct regular construction coordination meetings. • Review: • Construction schedules • Manpower plans • Equipment deployment plans • Construction methodologies
• Monitor contractor productivity and performance against project objectives. • Ensure contractors implement approved procedures and construction practices.
Interface & Coordination
• Coordinate interfaces between:
• Engineering • Procurement • Construction • Commissioning • Operations • HSE and Quality teams
• Ensure construction readiness prior to execution. • Resolve construction issues and interface conflicts promptly. • Support multidisciplinary coordination and decision-making.
Construction Planning & Progress
• Review and validate construction execution plans. • Monitor construction KPIs and progress against approved schedules. • Identify risks to construction execution and implement mitigation plans. • Participate in weekly and monthly progress reviews. • Ensure accurate reporting of construction status and forecast completion dates.
Quality Management
• Ensure all construction activities comply with project quality requirements. • Coordinate with QA/QC personnel for inspections and testing activities. • Monitor punch lists and non-conformities. • Ensure timely closure of quality issues and corrective actions.
Handover & Commissioning Support
• Support Mechanical Completion activities. • Ensure construction dossiers and turnover packages are complete. • Coordinate system handovers to commissioning teams. • Support commissioning, start-up, and operational readiness activities.
HSE RESPONSIBILITY
• Demonstrate visible safety leadership and promote a strong HSSE culture. • Ensure compliance with:
• Project HSE requirements • Site procedures • Permit-to-Work requirements • Environmental regulations
• Participate in:
• Site safety audits • Management safety walks • Incident investigations • Risk assessments
• Ensure unsafe acts and unsafe conditions are immediately addressed. • Stop work when safety requirements are not met.
Required Qualifications / Experience Professional Experience
• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction management on major EPC/EPSCC projects. • Proven experience on large industrial, oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, or utility projects. • Strong experience managing multidisciplinary construction activities from detailed engineering through commissioning.
• Minimum 5 years as Construction Manager, Site Manager, or equivalent leadership role. • Experience in greenfield megaprojects is preferred. • Previous Middle East and/or remote site experience is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of:
• Construction methodologies • Multidisciplinary installation activities • Construction planning and scheduling • Contractor management • Mechanical completion and turnover processes • HSE leadership • Quality management systems • Strong understanding of EPC/EPSCC project execution.
Level / Diploma
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Process, or equivalent). • Professional accreditation or recognized project/construction management certification is an advantage.

• Proficiency in English mandatory.
