Program Summary The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) sustains the Army’s mission to develop, acquire, field, and sustain ground combat, tactical, and support systems throughout their lifecycle. The program focuses on ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and safety of automotive and ground support equipment critical to Army operations. Under this contract, personnel provide maintenance, repair, overhaul, and sustainment support in accordance with Army technical manuals, safety standards, and performance requirements.

Job Summary The Motor Vehicle Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of vehicles, equipment, and drivers in support of installation operations and mission requirements. This position ensures the efficient utilization of government vehicles and transportation resources by assigning vehicles and operators, maintaining dispatch records, tracking vehicle availability, and coordinating transportation requests. The Motor Vehicle Dispatcher works closely with vehicle operators, maintenance personnel, and organizational customers to support safe, timely, and effective transportation operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch vehicles, drivers, and equipment to support transportation requirements and mission objectives. • Receive, process, and prioritize transportation requests, ensuring efficient allocation of available resources. • Maintain dispatch logs, vehicle utilization records, trip tickets, mileage reports, and other transportation documentation. • Monitor vehicle status, availability, and location to ensure timely service and effective fleet utilization. • Coordinate with maintenance personnel regarding vehicle inspections, repairs, and service schedules to minimize operational disruptions. • Verify operator qualifications, licensing requirements, and vehicle assignments in accordance with organizational policies and safety regulations. • Communicate with drivers, supervisors, and customers to provide updates, resolve transportation issues, and adjust schedules as needed. • Ensure compliance with applicable transportation regulations, safety procedures, and vehicle management policies.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience dispatching vehicles, coordinating transportation operations, or managing fleet activities in a commercial, industrial, military, or government environment. • Knowledge of transportation, fleet management, scheduling, and dispatching principles and procedures. • Ability to prioritize multiple requests, coordinate resources, and respond effectively to changing operational requirements. • Experience maintaining dispatch records, vehicle utilization reports, and transportation documentation. • Proficiency with computer systems and software used for dispatching, fleet management, and recordkeeping. • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, supervisors, and customers. • Knowledge of vehicle safety requirements, transportation regulations, and operator qualification standards. • Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (as required) • U.S. citizenship required
