• High School High School Graduate or Equivalent • Associates degree preferred or equivalent work experience in feld Experience / Qualifications
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers. • Minimum of two years of healthcare experience in the outpatient setting or hospital / health system call center setting. • 2 years of experience with insurance plans including Medicare, HMO's and PPO's required. • Knowledge of outpatient procedures and medical terminology required. • Excellent phone etiquette, customer service skills, and computer skills. Ability to exercise good judgment, time management skills and follow appropriate procedures when setting priorities and handling stressful situations. • Knowledge of Healthcare Scheduling Software / Hospital EMR Preferred. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work under stressful situations. • Knowledge of Federal and third-party payor requirements. • Reliable transportation as the position requires travel to and between different Jupiter Medical Center outpatient entities and the Jupiter Medical Center main campus. Position Summary This position serves as support to Jupiter Medical Center’s outpatient Breast Center. The position will work with the department leader to identify areas of need and provide support to these areas and functions.
• Supervises Patient Access Specialist personnel. • Participate in the training of new Patient Access staff and identify/address areas of concern. • Makes assignments for Patient Access staff, assess workload, evaluates staffing needs and make arrangements for coverage • Oversight of EPIC schedules to include templates and appoinment confirmations. • Obtaining demographic, insurance, and clinical information to ensure an accurate and complete registration. • Performing insurance verification, data collection, and documentation. • Identifying patient financial responsibilities and collecting applicable payment. • Acting as liaison to all internal and external customers to facilitate access to hospital services. • Initiating contact with insurance companies for verification of benefits and authorization of outpatient services. • Coordinating resources including Physicians, staff and equipment for scheduled exams. • Pre-registering and verifying patient appointments for scheduled services. • Comply with and support all JMCPG and JMC policies and procedures. • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements Requires sitting for long periods of time, also stooping, bending, standing, and stretching. Must have manual dexterity for typing and computer data entry. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs., carry and lift up to 20lbs. Travel as needed. Threshold Requirements
