We are looking for a Senior Fund Accountant within our Fund Accounts team in Norwich. What this job involves: Key responsibilities Complete ownership of the day-to-day deliverables of the portfolio including but not limited to: · Take on lead responsibility for the preparation of the management accounts of specified portfolios (these are likely to be more high profile or more complex instructions). · Managing the end-to-end accounting process for the portfolio, including preparing and reviewing financial statements, NAV calculations and other fund related reports. · Prepare nominal ledger reconciliations, VAT reporting, cashflows, variance analysis and commentaries. · Managing fund and SPV audits, ensuring adherence to UKGAAP/IFRS and regulatory standards. · Monitoring and management of the filings, compliance and audits of the tax, CIS and VAT, supported by external tax advisors. · Managing fund expenses, capital calls, distributions, cash flow forecasting and other operational aspects of the fund. · Supporting acquisitions, disposals, and structuring, including financial onboarding of new assets. · Calculating management and performance fees · Supporting the Manager and the Lead on Team’s management initiatives and be the person in charge in their absence Performance Management · Cash and liquidity management across the portfolio · Preparation of contract performance calculations, including KPIs · Act as a point of escalation for the team to resolve technical issues (e.g., accounting compliance, VAT) · Reviewing Monthly/Quarterly Client deliverables · Identity and implement improvements to standardise, streamline and simplify working procedures · Any other accounting duties necessary to ensure the efficient running of the portfolio Maintain Financial Controls · Liaise with all departments to ensure Key Performance Indicators are achieved and aim to exceed expectations. · Identify and suggest improvements to standardise, streamline and simplify working procedures. · Effectively manage risk by complying with Company and legislative procedures and controls. Identify problem areas and escalate issues promptly. · Support with all internal and external auditing requirements Engagement with Clients & Wider Team · Working with and or overseeing third party managing agents and fund administrators · Be the main point of contact for specific clients for the day to day running of the Client portfolio. · Liaise with and support Asset/Portfolio Managers on the portfolio, acting on requests and providing information in a timely manner. · Attend internal and external meetings as required. · Ensure strong communication links are established and maintained with the client accounts managers and finance team. To apply you need to be / have: Essential · ACCA/CIMA/ACA Part Qualified · An understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS · An understanding of UK commercial real estate structure and investment management. · Excellent bookkeeping skills · Strong Excel skills, (incl. working knowledge of pivot tables & V-Lookup tables). · Strong interpersonal and communication skills. · Must be flexible and able to work under pressure, multi-task and effectively prioritise. · Organised, with attention to detail and able to work to tight deadlines. · Able to use own initiative to resolve day to day issues. · Previous experience of a team leadership Desirable · Knowledge of Client Systems (Yardi/MRI/Horizon/Voyager). · Previous experience in similar client facing role · Experience of preparing financial statements and VAT returns.
