About this role
The Cash Accountant, Treasury will be responsible for recording and validating daily bank activity in the General Ledger, including deposits, transfers, fees, and other cash transactions, while ensuring accurate documentation and reconciliation of corporate deposits and bank accounts. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and unusual activity, and coordinate with Treasury, Accounting, and Finance teams to resolve cash variances and unidentified transactions. Process domestic and international wires and ACH payments in accordance with established controls, support month-end close and audit requirements, and identify opportunities to improve cash accounting processes and Treasury operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Record daily bank account activity in the General Ledger (G/L) for non-POS/operating cash transactions, ensuring cash activity is accurately and timely reflected in the company’s financial records.
• Review and validate daily bank transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, fees, and other operating cash activity, and ensure transactions are properly coded and recorded.
• Manage and process corporate deposits, ensuring deposits are accurately documented, recorded, and reconciled to bank activity and the General Ledger.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for corporate bank accounts, investigating and resolving outstanding items and discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with Treasury, Accounting, and other Finance teams to research and resolve cash variances, reconciliation issues, and unidentified bank activity.
• Initiate and process domestic and international wires and ACH payments in accordance with established Treasury policies, approval requirements, and internal controls.
• Ensure payment activity is supported by appropriate documentation and approvals and is accurately recorded and reconciled following execution.
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation for bank activity, deposits, payments, and account reconciliations to support internal and external audit requirements.
• Monitor assigned bank accounts for unusual or unexpected activity and escalate discrepancies or potential control issues to Treasury management.
• Assist with month-end close activities, ensuring cash-related transactions and reconciliations are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
• Identify opportunities to improve cash accounting processes, strengthen controls, and enhance the efficiency and accuracy of Treasury operations.
Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; 1-3 years of relevant work experience in Finance, Treasury, Financial Operations, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Computer and Technical Skills
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office equivalent programs along with experience with multi-location or multi-fascia retail sales audit operations, including POS transaction processing and reconciliation. Hands-on experience with POS, Sales Audit, sub-ledger, and General Ledger systems, preferably Oracle XStore, ReSA, Aptos, Sales Hub, and Workday Accounting Center.
