About this role
What You Will Do As a Security Systems Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing enterprise-level electronic security solutions for some of the UK's most complex and high-profile projects. Working in a hybrid role from our offices in Sunbury, Letchworth or Birmingham, you will support the delivery of integrated security systems including Access Control (ACS), CCTV, Intruder Detection Systems (IDS) and Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems (PIDS). Working closely with sales, project delivery and engineering teams, you will produce high-quality technical designs, develop innovative security solutions and provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced security commissioning or service engineers looking to transition into a design-focused engineering role.

How You Will Do It
• Design integrated electronic security systems including CCTV, ACS, IDS and PIDS for projects ranging from small installations to multi-million-pound enterprise solutions.
• Produce detailed technical designs, system architectures, schematics, specifications and supporting documentation.
• Conduct site surveys and assess customer requirements to develop compliant and cost-effective security solutions.
• Collaborate with sales and project teams to support bid activities, solution development and project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout the design and implementation phases.
• Liaise with customers, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Prepare and maintain documentation using Microsoft Office and Visio.
• Review architectural, electrical and network drawings to support system design activities.
• Ensure all designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards and security requirements.
What We Are Looking For Required
• Experience in the electronic security industry, ideally in a Design, Commissioning or Service Engineering role.
• Strong technical knowledge of enterprise security systems including CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Detection and Perimeter Detection.
• Ability to interpret architectural, electrical and network drawings.
• Experience producing or supporting technical system designs and documentation.
• Understanding of integrated security solutions and associated technologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Visio.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).
Beneficial
• Qualification in Electronics Engineering, Security Engineering or a related discipline.
