Role Overview We are looking for a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to receive service requests, diagnose system issues, and perform service and repairs on sprinkler and suppression systems across commercial, industrial, and residential environments. This role supports wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems, as well as fire pumps, with a strong focus on customer service, safety, and reliable field execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center and review the reported equipment or system malfunction. • Contact customer representatives to confirm the issue and gather relevant site information. • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. • Work on wet systems, including steel, copper, and CPVC, as well as dry, pre-action, and deluge systems. • Service and repair fire pumps as part of sprinkler and suppression system support. • Troubleshoot equipment using technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, and modification notices. • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals. • Deliver a high level of customer service while maintaining a professional and positive presence on site. • Work independently and manage field tasks with strong organization and attention to detail. • Maintain truck inventory to support timely response to customer needs.
How You Will Do It
• Work safely, with accountability and integrity, and follow all Johnson Controls and customer safety requirements at all times. • Stay close to the work, diagnose the issue efficiently, and remove obstacles so the customer’s system is restored as quickly as possible. • Use troubleshooting procedures, technical documents, and service information to reach accurate, practical repairs. • Read drawings and manuals carefully, apply sound judgment in the field, and keep your work organized and precise. • Build trust through clear communication, responsive service, and a willingness to solve problems independently. • Improve every day by learning from each service call, sharing clear observations, and applying continuous problem-solving. • Collaborate with the Service Resource Center, customer representatives, and district teams to win as one team.
Qualifications
• 1-3 years of documented experience in the Fire Sprinkler service industry performing service and repair to sprinkler and suppression systems. • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements. • Overnight travel may be required. • Ability to maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs. • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times. • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements. • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. • Ability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs. • Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, and working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, and similar spaces. • Ability to read, understand, and follow all safety requirements of the company and the customer. • Ability to work alone when required.
