Salary £50 per 60-minute session <br>£75 per 90-minute session Job Description <strong><u>Arrangement</u></strong><br> <br>Freelance<br> <br>This role will be covered by a <strong>Service Level Agreement.</strong> This agreement ensures the proper elements and commitments are in place to provide Clinical Supervision to Harmless CIC employees. This agreement establishes a mutual understanding of how Harmless CIC and the successful candidate will provide Clinical Supervision. <br> <br>The objectives of this Agreement are to: <ul><li style="border:0px solid;margin:0px;">Provide clear reference to service ownership, accountability, roles, and/or responsibilities. </li><li style="border:0px solid;margin:0px;">Present a clear, concise, and measurable description of service provision to the customer. </li><li style="border:0px solid;margin:0px;">Match perceptions of expected service provision with actual service support &amp; delivery.</li></ul> <br> <br><strong><u>Duties</u></strong><br> <br>Harmless is the national centre of excellence for self-harm and suicide prevention. We save lives by providing support, information, training, and consultancy about self-harm to individuals who self-harm, their friends, families, and professionals. Our sister service, The Tomorrow Project, works to support individuals and communities to prevent suicide, and offers support to those bereaved by suicide. Our work promotes health and recovery, reduces isolation and distress, and increases awareness and intervention skills.<br> <br>We are looking for a <strong>clinical supervisor</strong> to deliver clinical supervision to our frontline clinicians, including Therapists and Clinical Support Workers.<br> <br>This includes:<ul><li>Ensure compliance with clinical governance, quality assurance, and relevant regulatory standards across all supervision activities.</li><li>Play a pivotal role in supporting staff, ensuring they receive effective and timely clinical supervision to support safe practice and the development of skills and knowledge in the delivery of our specialist services to our client groups. </li><li>Be sensitive to the complexities of each role within the organisation and treat all those accessing supervision equally and without prejudice. </li><li>Liaise directly with the Harmless team to arrange supervision sessions. </li><li>Work with colleagues to support staff and respond to emerging themes. </li><li>Maintain accurate, confidential, and auditable supervisory records to support formal conduct, capability, or disciplinary proceedings, as required. </li><li>Prepare comprehensive quarterly supervision reviews and competency assessments, documenting supervisee progress, and evaluating performance against established professional frameworks.</li><li>Contribute to the Safeguarding Reflective Cycle by synthesising supervisory trends into formal thematic reports to inform team-wide reflective practice. </li><li>Actively engage in ongoing professional development and individual supervision to maintain effectiveness as a clinical supervisor</li><li>Evaluate staff workload alignment with individual experience and emotional capacity, escalating concerns and offering recommendations to management when individuals are overwhelmed</li></ul> Person Specification <strong><u>Standards</u></strong><br> <br><strong>Qualifications &amp; Professional Membership</strong><br><ul><li>Professional qualification in a relevant clinical discipline</li><li>Full registration or accreditation with a recognised professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, HCPC, NMC, or equivalent).</li><li>Recognised formal qualification in Clinical Supervision (or evidence of equivalent specialist training).</li><li>Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and commitment to regular personal clinical supervision.</li></ul><strong> </strong><br><strong>Experience</strong><br><ul><li>Substantial post-qualification clinical experience delivering therapeutic or mental health interventions to specialist client groups.</li><li>Proven experience providing individual and group clinical supervision to multidisciplinary staff, including Therapists and Support Workers.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in clinical governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Experience in writing formal reports, conducting competency assessments, and auditing supervisory records.</li><li>Experience in trauma-informed care, self-harm, or suicide-prevention specialist services.</li></ul><strong> </strong><br><strong>Knowledge &amp; Skills</strong><br><ul><li>In-depth understanding of evidence-based therapeutic frameworks and reflective supervision models.</li><li>Strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory standards.</li><li>Ability to evaluate staff competency, assess workload capacity, and objectively monitor clinical performance.</li><li>Excellent time-management skills for scheduling sessions and maintaining auditable, confidential records.</li><li>Advanced interpersonal skills to facilitate difficult conversations, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate across teams.</li></ul><strong> </strong><br><strong>Personal Attributes &amp; Values</strong><br><ul><li>Deeply committed to equality, diversity, and non-discriminatory practice across all supervisory relationships.</li><li>Highly attuned to the emotional strain of clinical roles, able to identify burnout and escalate staff wellbeing concerns promptly.</li><li>Maintains absolute confidentiality while upholding high ethical standards in auditable record-keeping.</li><li>Approachable and adaptable, with a strong partnership ethic when liaising with management and wider teams.</li></ul>
