ABOUT THE ROLE To ensure maximum equipment availability, reliability, and efficiency of manufacturing operations through effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance. The role is responsible for maintaining plant machinery, utilities, and infrastructure while driving continuous improvement, cost optimization, and safety compliance in an automotive manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Plant & Equipment Maintenance Plan, execute, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance activities. Ensure minimum machine downtime and maximum equipment uptime. Lead breakdown analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Monitor machine health and reliability parameters. 2. Production Support Ensure continuous support to production for uninterrupted manufacturing. Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams for maintenance planning. Attend critical machine breakdowns and ensure quick restoration. 3. Utility Management Manage plant utilities such as Compressors, DG Sets, HVAC, Cooling Systems, Transformers, Electrical Panels, and Water Systems. Ensure uninterrupted utility supply to manufacturing operations. Monitor utility consumption and identify energy-saving opportunities. 4. TPM & Continuous Improvement Drive TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives. Implement Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and productivity improvement projects. Improve MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and reduce MTTR (Mean Time To Repair). Lead cost reduction and operational excellence initiatives. 5. Maintenance Planning & Budget Control Prepare annual maintenance plans and shutdown schedules. Manage maintenance budgets and control repair costs. Ensure optimum inventory levels of spare parts and consumables. Coordinate with vendors for AMC and specialized maintenance activities. 6. Team Management Lead maintenance engineers, technicians, and contractor manpower. Plan manpower deployment across shifts. Conduct skill development and technical training programs. Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to maintenance standards. 7. Safety, Compliance & Audits Ensure compliance with EHS guidelines and statutory requirements. Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments. Support ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 audits. Ensure compliance with electrical and maintenance safety standards. 8. Automation & Industry 4.0 Support automation projects and machine upgrades. Monitor PLC, SCADA, Robotics, and automated manufacturing systems. Implement predictive maintenance tools and digital monitoring systems. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Machine Uptime (%) Breakdown Frequency MTBF Improvement MTTR Reduction Preventive Maintenance Compliance (%) Maintenance Cost Control OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) Energy Consumption Reduction Safety Compliance Score Spare Parts Inventory Accuracy Educational Qualification B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automobile, or Industrial Engineering. Diploma holders with strong maintenance experience may also be considered. TPM/Lean/Six Sigma certifications preferred. Experience 8 to 12 years of experience in Maintenance function within Automotive Manufacturing. Experience in handling CNC machines, Assembly Lines, Welding Lines, Paint Shop, Press Shop, or Machining operations. Exposure to preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance. Hands-on experience with PLC, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and Electrical Systems.
